JSW Steel is a flagship company of the diversified JSW Group, which, with revenue of US$24.25 billion in 2024, is one of India’s leading business houses. Products produced by JSW Steel are used in industries and applications that include construction, infrastructure, automobile and electrical applications. The company has a steel production capacity of 35.7 million tonnes per annum and alongside SAIL and Tata Steel, both also LeadIT members, JSW Steel is among the top three steel companies in India.
JSW steel has made a commitment to be net neutral in carbon emissions by 2050, with an interim 2030 target of a 42% reduction in CO₂ emissions. To help achieve this ambition the company is focussing on the use of renewable energy and green hydrogen in steel making, carbon capture, usage and storage, the increased use of scrap-based electric arc furnaces and the use of syngas and top gas recycling blast furnaces.
JSW Steel has partnered with JSW Energy, also part of the JSW Group, to develop and supply green hydrogen at its manufacturing works at Vijayanagar.
